    Alan, the scene where the dog was kicked was absolutely unnecessary. Animal abuse triggers people. The actor stated the dog was not harmed although it sure looked real, but the fact remains , it was wrong and unnecessary part in that episode. Alan what were you thinking?????

    • @alantaylor8
      @alantaylor8 9 днів тому

      I can assure you the dog was VERY well protected. He was never in the room with the "kicker". And the action itself was manipulated to look violent. I am answering your question directly because I take this stuff very seriously. And I am absolutely a dog person. I feel strongly that the act was a critical beat in our relationship with these characters. There was some degree of comedy to their partnership, early on. The moment with the dog heralded the end of that tone. And the shift to the darkness that was to come.

    I watched this movie after reading the preview but not the trailer. The preview made it seem like it was intense roller coaster ride where the voice in the room gets to their head, in fact it was just their pure boredom that got to them. The voice making announcements had no part of the film whatsoever, would've been more thrilling if the voice was actually talking them and giving orders or something. They also could have dived more regarding the treat scenes/options, I think it could have played a bigger and better role. This movie just seemed like a mr beast video if I'm being honest just 10x more dull.

    Just to note, Furiosa was originally meant to be animated, along with fury road. So when you look at the shots and CGI from the perspective that it was originally animated, a lot of it makes more sense and I cut the movie some slack for that.

  • @antoniofreitas3019
    @antoniofreitas3019 26 днів тому

    well as a VFX artist and editor... it comes down to continuity, and how the scene was shot. I'm a fan of practical as it gives me more to enhance and work with. All digital and a poorly filmed scene will never look "good" no matter how much cgi you throw at it. It needs to be a healthy balance of both. where both departments are communicating and planning.

    Bad practical effects sometimes gets a chuckle in a "so corny it's good" kind of way, particularly if it's from a movie trying to make the best of a low budget. Bad CGI in a modern film with the budget to make it well and a director with more than enough experience to learn from their mistakes is inexcusable.

  • @db5627
    @db5627 26 днів тому

    For me, bad cgi is just such an eye sore. Practical effects are easier to hide or just ignore, but when it's obvious they're in front of a green/blue screen, it's damn obvious.

  • @arandomguy1336
    @arandomguy1336 26 днів тому

    Bad cgi for me. Because cgi is just more noticeable if done poorly, if the scene was filmed in 4K but the cgi in the background is 144p or a little off parallel with the camera movement it would be pretty noticeable, but if it’s a practical effect, it’s still in the same quality, shape, and space as the actors. Of course replacing an actor with a doll for rag doll shots is noticeable too, but still more believable than seeing an explosion cut off at the edges.
